WebScribe ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and
protects your information when you use our
application.
WebScribe is designed to convert microphone and
system audio into text. This policy clarifies the
distinct ways we handle transcription data (which
stays on your device) versus how we handle the
optional subscription features (which involve our
servers).
2. Transcription Processing: Local Only
WebScribe performs the core function of audio
transcription entirely on your local device, within
your browser.

No Upload of Audio or Raw
Transcripts:
The audio you record and the resulting raw text
transcript are processed locally. This data is
not sent to, stored on, or accessible by our
servers.

Local Storage: Transcripts are
saved only on your personal device/browser
storage for your own reference. You are
responsible for maintaining the security of your
device.
3. Subscription Features: AI Summary, Notes,
and Tasks
If you choose to subscribe to our premium features,
WebScribe will offer the ability to generate
summaries, structured notes, and actionable tasks
based on your transcript.

How It Works: When you request
these AI features, the
text transcript (not the audio)
is sent securely from your browser to our
servers to be processed by a Large Language
Model (LLM) inference engine.

Server Data Handling: This is a
temporary, one-way transmission for the sole
purpose of generating your requested content.

Immediate Disposal:
We do not store the transcript text on our
servers.
Once the LLM inference is complete and the
summary, notes, or tasks are returned to your
browser, the transcript text is immediately
disposed of from our server memory. We do not
retain a copy or log of the transcript content.
4. Information We Collect for
Subscribers
To manage your subscription and account, we collect
the following limited information:

Email Address: Used strictly
for account authentication, subscription status
verification, and essential service
announcements (e.g., billing issues or major
changes to the service).

Payment Information: We do not
store your full credit card details. Payments
are processed by a secure third-party payment
processor (e.g., Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
We only receive a transaction identifier and
subscription status from the processor.
5. What We DO NOT Do
We are committed to building trust through
transparency. Specifically:

We DO NOT sell or rent your personal
data.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your email
address, subscription status, or usage patterns
to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third
parties.

We DO NOT use your email for spam.
We will only contact you regarding your account
functionality or critical service updates. We
will not send you marketing newsletters unless
you explicitly opt in through a separate
mechanism.

We DO NOT store your audio or raw
transcripts on our servers. Ever.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and
organizational measures to protect the limited data
that passes through our servers. This includes
encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all
communications between your browser and our servers.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet
is 100% secure.
7. Third-Party Services
WebScribe relies on two main types of third-party
services:

LLM Inference Provider: A
third-party AI provider processes the text
during the Summary/Notes/Tasks generation. This
provider processes the text under our
instruction and is contractually obligated to
delete the input data immediately after
inference and to not use it for training their
models.

Payment Processor: As noted
above, payment details are handled directly by a
PCI-compliant payment gateway.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
We will notify you of any changes by posting the new
Privacy Policy within the application or by email
associated with your subscription.
